Kazue Hashimoto-Torii, PhD, received her postdoctoral training in the Pasko Rakic laboratory at Yale University. She started her own lab at Children’s National Research Institute in 2012. Her research focuses on neurobehavior problems of children that stem from their environment during development, such as prenatal exposure to alcohol, drug, and high-level glucose. Her laboratory has been publishing manuscripts in high impact journals including Nature, Neuron, and PNAS. A few drug candidates that her lab discovered have been patented and her lab is currently working hard to bring those medicines to bedside. She is the recipient of prestigious awards including the NIH K99/R00 pathway to independence award and the BBRF young investigator award.
