Hashimoto-Torii Laboratory
About the Lab
The goal of the Hashimoto-Torii Laboratory is to understand how adverse prenatal environment interacts with genetic predisposition, thereby increasing the disease susceptibility after birth. With a focus on the cerebral cortex, we tackle this fundamental question with combinations of various wet and dry analyses, including in vivo gene transfer, generation and analysis of transgenic mouse models, and single-cell ribonucleic acid (RNA) sequencing and copy number variation (CNV) analysis of patient-derived induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and fetal brains. Our approach includes manipulation of the molecules and genes identified by dry analyses with human samples in vivo in mouse models to examine their roles in the pathological development of the cerebral cortex.
