Monika Goyal, MD, is a pediatric emergency medicine specialist and associate chief of Academic Affairs at Children's National. She is an associate professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

In 2022, Dr. Goyal was the first endowed chair of Women in Science and Health (WISH) for her outstanding contributions in biomedical research. She is also an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Goyal's NIH-funded research program aims to develop emergency department-based interventions in both the provision of emergency care and health outcomes for youth. She is actively involved in mentoring students, trainees and junior faculty.
