  • Anqing Zhang, PhD, is a faculty member within the Biostatistical Core of the Children's National Hospital Center for Translational Research and an assistant professor of pediatrics at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at George Washington University. Prior to joining Children's National, Dr. Zhang was an assistant research professor at the University of Missouri School of Medicine for two years. She has a broad array of experience in developing statistical methodologies in designing preclinical and clinical trials (Phase I, II, III) and conducting clinical data analyses. Her primary research interests focus on developing optimal designs for Phase I/II dose-finding studies.

Dr. Zhang is currently collaborating on funded grant projects for the Program for Cell Enhancement and Technologies for Immunotherapy (CETI) within the Center for Cancer and Immunology Research (CCIR) at Children's National, providing statistical expertise in study design, data and safety monitoring, interim analysis and data analysis for the ongoing clinical trials. She also serves as a statistical mentor for junior faculty/fellows at Children's on their early career awards to help them developing skills in the area of biostatistical methodologies. Beyond her mentoring role, she has dedicated her efforts to the research community by serving as a board member (reviewer and editor) for various scientific journals. Dr. Zhang also serves as an advisory committee member for the Brian Tumour Research Novel Therapeutics Accelerator (BTR-NTA) at Tessa Jowell Brian Cancer Mission (UK) where she provides statistical expertise to help international researchers position their therapeutic along a realistic pathway to clinical trials, including preclinical study robustness, safety, clinical trial design, etc.
