Chase McCann, MSPH, PhD
- Associate Director, Cellular Therapy Laboratory Core
Chase D. McCann, PhD, is the associate director of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory (CTL) Core at Children’s National Hospital and holds a faculty appointment as assistant research professor of pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. In his role, Dr. McCann oversees the hospital’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility, where he directs the production of advanced cell-based therapies for clinical investigation.
His work is driven by a mission to accelerate the discovery, refinement and clinical translation of novel cellular therapies through close collaboration with scientific investigators and regulatory authorities. The GMP facility under Dr. McCann’s leadership supports manufacturing for a broad spectrum of clinical trials, including virus-specific T cells, tumor-associated antigen-specific T cells and mesenchymal stromal cells. Most recently, he led the establishment of a robust platform for the manufacturing of engineered chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells at Children’s National, expanding the institution’s capabilities in cutting-edge immunotherapy.
