Academic and Research Operations

Children’s National Research Institute provides a centralized administrative infrastructure to support the research community and to ensure compliance with federal, local and private sponsor regulations as well as terms and conditions. The office provides operational, managerial, human resources, regulatory and training support for our faculty and staff. The team also provides communications support for research and innovation efforts at Children’s National, promoting our breakthrough discoveries and re-imagined care for children.

Children’s National is the main training site for more than 1,700 medical students, residents and clinical fellows every year. Our primary medical school partners are the George Washington (GW) University School of Medicine and the Howard University College of Medicine. Local hospital partners sending us residents and fellows include GW University Hospital, MedStar Georgetown Hospital, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Howard University Hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and NIH Clinical Center.
