Xiaofang Wu, MD, MS
- Associate Research Professor, Pediatrics
Xiaofang Wu, MD, MS, is an associate research professor of pediatrics at George Washington University and a faculty member at Children’s National Hospital. Her research focuses on developing new immunotherapy for high-risk pediatric solid tumors, including neuroblastoma, melanoma, rhabdomyosarcoma and astrocytoma. Dr. Wu developed a novel adoptive cellular immunotherapy approach that uses a patient’s own peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), which are trained ex vivo with reprogrammed tumor cells to generate tumor-specific T cells (TAT-T cells). These engineered T cells have shown strong tumor-killing activity in both human studies and animal models, demonstrating promising potential for future clinical applications. Her work is dedicated to advancing innovative immune-based therapies to improve treatment outcomes for children with aggressive cancers.
