Division of Biostatistics and Study Methodology

Our team is trained in a variety of statistical techniques from basic hypothesis testing to advanced modeling techniques. We also provide power and sample size calculations and will write the methods sections for proposal submissions or manuscripts. We primarily program in SAS, Stata, and R, and regularly partner with Children’s and GW Informatics staff on Big Data analytic and reporting projects.

• All requesters are permitted 4 hours of free consulting/analysis time. This includes meeting time, and work time.
• If the work is to support a grant or other mechanism and DBSM staff or faculty will be funded if awarded, additional free hours may be provided.\
• If the work is to support a poster for Education Week, up to 20 hours of free service will be provided.
• All NIH scholars are permitted up to 24 hours of free time per year.
• All REACH projects are permitted up to 20 hours of free service.
• Fellows’ projects have the potential for 20 hours of free service, but a funding mechanism will be explored first with their Division Chief
• If the work will result in a paper and DBSM faculty or staff are an author, additional free hours may, in rare cases be provided after all funding sources have been explored
• Extenuating circumstances for free time requests should be presented to their Division Chief and to Dr. Monika Goyal and Dr. Beth Tarini for approval
