Ameena Ahmed, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist whose scholarly work has focused on self-compassion interventions for caregivers of children with developmental disabilities and medical conditions. Her approach addresses the unique psychological challenges faced by these caregivers, offering them practical tools to enhance their wellbeing and resilience. Her work thus far provides empirical evidence supporting the benefits of self-compassion interventions for caregivers and offers practical guidance for their implementation in clinical settings. Dr. Ahmed aspires to expand her research to encompass a broader range of parent populations, including caregivers whose children have been impacted by trauma, thereby extending the reach and applicability of self-compassion interventions to support a diverse array of caregivers facing various challenges.
