  • Sade Akinkuotu, PhD,’s research interests include answering questions about the behavioral and emotional health of diverse families. This work includes exploration of contextual and cultural factors that impact health. Through her research activities, Dr. Akinkuotu aspires to expand understanding of important contextual factors, empower families to decrease stigma related to seeking and receiving mental health services, increase treatment engagement and adherence and improve overall family wellbeing. Currently, her research centers on identifying courtesy stigma experiences among caregivers of elementary school children.
