Andrew Barnett, PhD,'s research program focuses on addressing health disparities among sexual and gender minority youth and young adult populations, and much of his recent work has centered on HIV prevention among young men who have sex with men (YMSM). He is currently the PI of an NIMH-funded patient-oriented mentored research award (K23MH136831), “Using Implementation Science to Enhance HIV Prevention among YMSM.” The objective of the project is to examine delivery of evidence-based behavioral practices for YMSM starting PrEP to increase retention in care and use of PrEP and other effective HIV prevention methods.
