Shreya M. Doshi, MD, MPH, is an attending physician in pediatric infectious diseases at Children’s National Hospital and assistant professor of pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her research efforts focus on integrating environmental stewardship into pediatric practice to enhance patient outcomes, protect public health and reduce the carbon footprint of health care.
Dr. Doshi completed her fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Children’s National Hospital and holds a master of public health in global and environmental health from George Washington University’s Milken Institute of Public Health. She also completed Quality Improvement Leadership Training (QuILT) at Children’s National, strengthening her skills in designing and leading system level innovations.
As a member of the Sustainability Council at Children’s National, Dr. Doshi advances interdisciplinary, evidence-based projects that promote sustainable and equitable pediatric care. In collaboration with pharmacy colleagues, she has implemented electronic health record interventions that decrease antimicrobial waste, demonstrating measurable financial, environmental and social benefits. Her interests include healthcare sustainability and resource stewardship (including antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship), global and public health and medical education in planetary health.
Dr. Doshi earned the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society Antimicrobial Stewardship Fellowship Award for her study of follow up blood cultures in children with gram negative rod bacteremia and the Blair and Georgia Sadler Fellowship Award from Health Care Without Harm. She co-edited a supplement titled “Healthcare Sustainability Through the Infectious Diseases Lens” for the Journal of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Open Forum Infectious Diseases and co-founded the Sustainabil ID committee, now recognized as a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society subcommittee.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Doshi enjoys playing the acoustic guitar, singing and spending time with her nieces.
