She completed her MD and PhD degrees as part of the prestigious Medical Scientist Training Program and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2013, and it was during this time that she discovered her passion for neurology and pediatrics. After completing child neurology residency at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. in 2018, she joined the Prenatal Pediatrics Institute as a prenatal neurology fellow to further her education and training in prenatal and neonatal neurology.
Dr. Schlatterer’s unique training at the intersection of maternal-child health, neurology and pediatrics has cultivated her passion for clinical care and research. Her research interests include neurodevelopmental outcomes and brain injury in survivors of congenital heart disease and prevention of brain injury in the fetus and newborn. Her areas of clinical expertise include prenatal neurology, neonatal neurology and neurocritical care.
When she is not in the hospital, she enjoys dancing Argentine tango, traveling and cooking with her husband.
