This tool is designed to identify gaps in knowledge, attitude and practice related to trauma-informed care. The tool can be applied in academic and practice-based settings to understand gaps in practice and subsequently develop strategies to advance competency and trauma-informed practice.

The tool uses a 5-point Likert Scale, with Strongly Disagree = 1 and Strongly Agree = 5. Concerning scoring, each question and each point had the same weight. You could present the data by subscales of knowledge, attitude, and practice, and overall findings.
